Gänsemarkt, 2 mins by foot, multiple bus and subway lines. Laeiszhalle, 2 mins by foot across the street. Staatsoper Hamburg, 5 mins by foot. Planten un Blomen – a spacious public park where you can also ice skate in the winter, 10 mins by foot. The Wallanlagen an extended area of Planten un Blomen leads to Hamburg’s beloved harbour and Landungsbrücken, 20 mins.

At Landungsbrücken you might want to stroll a bit further along the harbour to the colourful Speicherstadt Hafen City – Port City, Hamburg’s response to London’s Canary Wharf.

The imposing Elbphilarmonie is an eye-catching presence amid rows of converted brick warehouses huddled along the canals that date back centuries. A lively residential, cultural, and commercial area literally in the port of Hamburg.

The route from the hotel to the City Centre takes one through winding streets that in themselves are a pleasure to discover before reaching the Binnenalster, Hamburg’s “lake” in the middle of the city. This area is brimming with shops, outdoor dining spots and cafés along the myriad canals that meander through the city and beyond. The City Hall of Hamburg, art galleries, and shops in the Jungfernstieg or Neuer Wall crown a cityscape that sets Hamburg apart from other cities in Germany.
